Privacy

There are no accounts on this site and nothing to log into, so the only thing we collect is traffic data. We use PostHog for it.

What gets collected

• Which pages you look at, and roughly how long you stay.
• Which links you click, including links off to ticket sites.
• Where you arrived from, so a search engine or a link from a forum.
• Your browser and screen size, and roughly what city you're in, worked out from your IP address.

It sets one cookie, ph_phc_…_posthog, plus a matching entry in your browser's local storage. That's what lets us tell a reader coming back from a reader arriving for the first time.

What doesn't

• No ad trackers, and no advertising on the site at all.
• No session recording. We can't watch you move around a page.
• No selling, sharing, or handing any of it to anybody.
• No profile that follows you to other sites.

One thing worth knowing

Analytics requests go to thesettimes.com rather than to PostHog's own domain. Blockers that work by filtering domain names therefore won't catch them, so if you're running one and assumed it had this covered, it hasn't.

Switching it off

Blocking cookies for this site stops the return-visit part. Clearing them resets it. Every browser has this in settings, usually under privacy, and most private or incognito windows do it for you.

Anything else

The site is static files on a CDN, so ordinary server logs exist the way they do for any website. Event pages carry a map, and its tiles come from OpenStreetMap as the page loads, so OpenStreetMap sees your IP address the way any image host does. It sets nothing. We don't run a newsletter yet. If we ever do, the signup will say what it does with your address before you type it.
