The Set Times is firsthand dance music journalism from the Pacific Northwest: Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, and everywhere under the clouds in between. It rains a lot out here and the shows go on anyway, so we do too.

We'd rather tell you what a room actually felt like than reprint a press release. The photos and words are ours because we were in there. We name the openers, and we publish set times whenever we can pry them loose. If a piece covers an event we were hired to shoot, it says so in the first lines.

The rules

• Every claim is witnessed or attributed.
• We don't take payment for coverage.
• No stock media. Every visual is ours or credited with permission.
• No-photo policies at underground events are honored.

What we count

Pageviews, through PostHog in cookieless mode. No cookies, no ad trackers, nothing stored on your device, no profile that follows you from one visit to the next. We see which stories get read and where readers came from. That's the whole list.
