Another incredible weekend at the Gorge with the Anjunafamily (and slight weather hiccups). We got into the festival grounds a little after the 4 PM door on Saturday. The lines out front moved fast, you never know how lines will be at the Gorge (I’m looking at you Griztronics) but camping and ticket entry were a breeze for ABGT700.

The night started out strong, vibes absolutely high. The energy on the floor and from basically everyone was electric. The Anjuna fam tends to bring around a more mature, loving, crowd that knows how to party. Darren Tate, Grum, throwing down into a classic beautiful sunset over the river, and Mat Zo keeping the dancing going. The header photo above is from around half an hour into Oliver Smith.

Sometime shortly after that is when the music quieted and the screens went red with text saying the show was paused for high winds. Originally it was just a clear of the pit, so everyone shifted onto the hill, but as time went on and the delays continued more and more people shifted further up the hill, back to camp, or around the festival grounds to wait out the pause and for the music to return. Then the lights came back and Above & Beyond played the 700th Group Therapy. It was beautiful. Above & Beyond was on around 11:10 instead of the originally scheduled 10.

The wind had been through the campground too. The walk back to camp after the set went past canopy after canopy flattened, and whole camps wrecked.

Sunday moved again for the weather. Doors went to 3:30, posted on Above & Beyond’s Instagram story that afternoon with a rebuilt running order that took five minutes off each of the first six sets and left Ben Böhmer’s close where it was. Friday’s Meadow bill had been reissued on the day too, with music from 5 PM rather than the 6 the FAQ said. Both grids, and Saturday as it was printed, are on the set times page.

Sunday was streamed live, minus Ben Böhmer’s close by Trance Attack’s account, and James Grant and Jody Wisternoff’s hour is the first of it posted as a replay. More sets get added here as they are posted.

The crowd was lovely all weekend, and a two-hour wind stop on Saturday night did nothing to that. Another beautiful ABGT. This one got through the weather together.
